Sunday School
First Lutheran Church and Pleasant Valley Church invites all children 4 years old through 8th grade to join Sunday School. The children enjoy singing and activities to learn the good news of God’s word and grow their faith in a fun and nurturing environment. Sunday school runs from September to May. You may contact the church office to enroll.

JAWS
Meets First Wed Monthly (Sep-May)
GRADES 9-12
JAWS (Jesus and Working Students) is our parish youth group. All students in grades 9-12, from our parish and our community, are welcome to attend! JAWS is an active, fun, large group of young adults. JAWS has a monthly meeting September – May. The monthly meeting is generally the first Wednesday evening of the month at First Lutheran Church in Britton.
ARK
JAWS youth host and enjoy ARK (Acts of Random Kindness) events about once a month September – November and January – April. These events can be Acts of Random Kindness within the community or for the JAWS youth.
Prayer n’ Muffins
JAWS sponsors Prayer n Muffins for 6-12th grade students on the 3rd Weds of the month, September – May, 7:45-8:10am at First Lutheran Church. This is a time for a light breakfast and prayers to start the day. It is a relaxed, meaningful start to the day!
JAWS youth are busy with several other things each year, including: hosting and attending community youth events, caroling at Christmas time, serving an egg bake breakfast for the annual meeting and on Easter morning, attending regional youth events, and more.

Confirmation
We consider confirmation a very important part of what God has given us to do as a parish.
Confirmation starts in the fall of the 7th grade year and concentrates on the Bible, learning the narrative of the Old and New Testaments, and what God is telling us. The second year the 8th graders concentrate on Lutheran doctrine using Luther’s Small Catechism and memorizing major portions of it. The confirmands write Faith Statements and review in the fall of their 9th grade year and are usually confirmed in October. The 7th grade class is taught by our Youth Director Kari Feldhaus and the 8th grade class is taught by Pastor Jesse. They are both blessed by the time they spend with these young people.

Rainforest Falls Vacation Bible School will be held:
Monday, July 6 – Thursday, July 9, 2026
9:00 am – 1:00 pm
at First Lutheran Church
Children ages 3 (must use bathroom independently) through 12 are invited to explore the nature of God through games, experiments, crafts, and music!
VOLUNTEERS:
Volunteers are needed for Rainforest Falls Vacation Bible School!
We are looking for 5-10 group leaders (all week or as you are available) to help supervise and transition children throughout their morning activities and provide snack donations.
Please see the sign-up sheets in the Fellowship Hall if you are willing to help in any way!
PARTICIPANTS:
Participants will need to bring a sack lunch for each day of VBS. We will provide drinks and a morning snack.
On the final day of VBS, we will host a short program at 1:00pm to share all we learned about Jesus throughout the week.
